Description: On July 30, 2013 at or about 8:46 P.M., plaintiff Lawrence Pridgen was lawfully within the vicinity of 1302 Redfern Avenue, Queens, New York. Plaintiff lives in Apartment 4F. He was returning to his apartment after borrowing something from a neighbor. Plaintiff was not wearing shoes. Returning to his apartment, plaintiff saw a group of police officers, including defendants, yelling at his father. As plaintiff approached his apartment, one of the officers grabbed plaintiff and twisted his arm behind his back. Plaintiff’s asked the officer why he was being grabbed. Description: On January 26, 2014, Plaintiffs were falsely arrested by officers outside their residence. Plaintiffs are a 59-year old woman and her 21-year-old daughter, both without any criminal record. That day, numerous officers were in front of the plaintiffs' house, slamming the mother plaintiff's son's head into a police car. Concerned for her son's safety, the mother plaintiff went outside to object to the physical assault. Officer Matthew Mauro then physically assaulted her by punching her in the head.
