Description: On June 29 2019, plaintiff accompanied a friend to the Marriot hotel where he was staying. She asked him to hold her purse while she used the bathroom in the lobby, when she returned he was gone. Plaintiff explained her situation and repeatedly asked the Marriot receptionist whether she could use the phone to contact him or a taxi. The clerk refused and said he would "call for assistance" if she continued to ask and she said that would be fine. Shortly after, two people in EMS uniforms entered the lobby with one similarly dressed NYPD officer. Plaintiff (who is Black) was not intoxicated in any way.
