Description: Plaintiff Justin Cohen On May 30, 2020, around 10:30 p.m., plaintiff was lawfully present at a protest in Brooklyn. Plaintiff had his phone out and was filming the police. Without any warning, PO Demery, Marquez, and Doe 1, directed by DI Lewis, ran towards plaintiff and tackled him from behind, causing plaintiff to land face first on the concrete, causing scrapes and abrasions on plaintiff right hand, cuts on the back of plaintiff’s left calf, and scrapes on plaintiff’s right shoulder, among other injuries. PO’s Demery, Marquez, and/or Defendant Doe 1 applied extremely tight handcuffs to plaintiff’s wrists.
