Description: On July 21, 2020, at approximately 10:00 A.M., Plaintiff Anthony Destefano was in the vicinity of Lafayette Avenue and Throgs Neck Expressway in Bronx County when Defendant NYPD Police Officers unlawfully stopped, questioned, searched, and falsely arrested Plaintiff without probable cause or legal justification. Plaintiff was unlawfully in custody at Riker's Island for over 30 days, where fires broke out, Plaintiff suffered from smoke inhalation, and was denied medical care.

Description: On October 2, 2016, plaintiff received a phone call from a friend, Saad Wyche, informing him that his nephew's friend had been shot. Fearing his nephew might be in trouble, he went to the scene. He arrived at the apartment after passing police tape and several officers outside the building. A few minutes after his arrival, NYPD officers arrived and began questioning him. At that point, the officers, without probable cause, arrested him. While he was being escorted out of the building, Mr. Wyche informed that that they were arresting him by mistake, that he had called plaintiff to the area after the shooting.
