Description: On February 7, 2020, Ruby Brown strangled Leslie Lee in her Brooklyn apartment and lied to the police about the circumstances of his death. Despite clear evidence of Brown's guilt, including DNA on the victim, the officers wrongly targeted the plaintiff, who had been in the apartment before the crime and was provably innocent. The plaintiff was arrested on March 5, 2020, aggressively interrogated, and coerced into a false confession. The defendants falsely portrayed him as the murderer to the media and used fabricated testimony from Brown to secure an indictment on April 2, 2020.
