Description: On January 15, 2021, Plaintiff was sleeping alone in their apartment when they were awoken by their ex-girlfriend ringing their front doorbell. The ex-girlfriend, who had an Order of Protection against Plaintiff. appeared to be intoxicated and refused to leave the apartment after Plaintiff opened the door. The ex-girlfriend then called the police with a fabricated story that Plaintiff threatened her with a machete. The police arrived and falsely arrested Plaintiff on grounds that he violated the Order of Protection, despite all evidence showing that the ex-girlfriend had shown up uninvited to their apartment. Description: On December 14, 2020, while lawfully at home at 1358 New York Avenue in Brooklyn, NY, the plaintiff was searched and arrested by defendant officers Mederos Dagobert and PO John 1-12 without legal justification. Prior to the arrest, the plaintiff had helped his friend Marque by picking up a UPS package with Marque's permission and delivering it to him as agreed. The UPS driver, fearing repercussions, falsely reported to the police that he had been robbed by a group including the plaintiff. The defendants, without properly investigating or examining evidence, arrested the plaintiff for robbery.
