Complaint
Description: On August 1, 2016, four unidentified men, at least one of whom was carrying a firearm, attempted to rob plaintiff. The plaintiff fought with his assailants and a firearm fell to the ground. After his assailants ran off, the plaintiff picked up the dropped firearm, when Police Officer Latoya Crooks and other officers were approaching him. Defendants ordered the plaintiff to get on the ground, and ignoring plaintiff's explanation, placed him under arrest for Criminal Possession of a Weapon. On July 1, 2017, all criminal charges against the plaintiff were dismissed.
