Description: On September 2, 2023, Plaintiff Simone Grant went to her grandmother's house to cook for a party that day. Later that day, several police officers approached the partygoers and told them to move the double-parked vehicles. Plaintiff went to grab a bottle that her friend was holding, and it shattered when Defendant PO Angelika Kaiser also went to reach for it. PO Angelika Kaiser then grabbed Plaintiff's left wrist and Defendant PO John Does grabbed Plaintiff's arms, pulled them behind Plaintiff's back, cuffed her and walked her to one of the police vehicles. Plaintiff was transported to the 69th Precinct.

Description: On February 21, 2014 Plaintiff was a lawful customer at a store when the store clerk Mohammed Jbari told Plaintiff he "hates black people" and asked Plaintiff if he was gay using a tone that indicated it was bad to be gay. Plaintiff lawfully purchased his items and lawfully exited the store. The next day Plaintiff visited an Imam from a local mosque and told him what Jbari said. The Imam took Plaintiff back to the store where the Imam told Jbari he should be respectful of customers. Jbari responded by sticking his middle finger at Plaintiff and reaching over the counter to hit Plaintiff repeatedly in the forehead while shouting and calling Plaintiff a "fucking faggot."
