On July 15, 2004 at approximately 1:30PM, Officer Anthony Salato and his partners observed a group of individuals obstructing pedestrian traffic at 243rd Street and 144th Avenue in Queens. Upon direction to disperse, all but one individual, [redacted] complied. [redacted] alleged that PO Salato instructed him to stop, threatened him with force, and subsequently used physical force when apprehending him.
(Allegations A through C) [redacted] said that he was frisked and searched and transported to the 105th Precinct station house for processing.
(Allegations D and E) During that time, and while being transported to Central Booking, [redacted] alleged that PO Salato spoke discourteously to him, referring to him as '[redacted] commenting that he is from "the ghetto," and subsequently asking him if he liked popular rap songs playing on the radio in the police vehicle.
