On June 7, 2008 at approximately 9:00 pm, [redacted] was traveling on the B Train, returning from a day at the beach with five of her friends. As the train approached the Botanical Gardens stop, a group of males in the train began arguing. The dispute intensified and an individual pulled out a gun and started shooting. The train stopped at the Botanical Garden train station. [redacted] and her friends fled the train and were separated in the commotion. Passengers were running in all directions, trying to exit the train. [redacted] managed to get upstairs towards the station exit and was met by three of her friends in front of the token booth. [redacted] (last name unknown) remained inside the train, which was stopped on the platform. Apparently, [redacted] froze from the gun shots and went into a state of shock. Numerous officers arrived on the scene.
[redacted] decided that it was necessary for her to go back down the stairs to get [redacted]. [redacted] was responsible for her friends because she was the only adult. By that time, four police officers, two plainclothes and two uniform officers, were present. The two plainclothes officers were talking to a female about what had happened on the platform. The other two uniform officers were on the top of the staircase. [redacted] attempted to go around PO Bulzoni, who [redacted] identified by name and described as a small white male in uniform, in his late 30's, approximately 160 lbs and down the stairs. [redacted]'s friends were right behind her. [redacted]'s intentions were to get [redacted] and leave the station.
As she approached PO Bulzoni, she said, "Excuse me? Can I have my sister [redacted] and her friends refer to each other as sisters but are not related)?" PO Bulzoni told [redacted] that he has his eye on her [redacted] and that [redacted] can have [redacted] when he is ready.
