Summary

On May 14, 2015, at approximately 8:30 a.m., [redacted] was driving to his home, which is located on [redacted] in the Bronx. At the intersection of Williamsbridge Road and Lydig Avenue, a blue Hyundai Elantra—which was being driven by PO Eddie Perez-cut in front of [redacted] vehicle, causing [redacted] to slam on his breaks and honk his horn several times. PO Perez was off-duty and was not in uniform, so [redacted] did not know he was a police officer at this time. [redacted] drove behind the Hyundai for several more blocks. During that time, the driver of the Hyundai continued to drive erratically, and he appeared to be yelling at [redacted] from inside of his vehicle. [redacted] passed the vehicle, which had stopped in front of [redacted] He pulled around his block, and as he was about to park near the intersection of Barnes Avenue and Pelham Parkway South, the blue Hyundai pulled up behind him. [redacted] parked and exited his vehicle, and then PO Perez motioned for [redacted] to come over. PO Perez remained in his vehicle and started yelling at [redacted] for cutting him off earlier. [redacted] told PO Perez to calm down, but PO Perez kept yelling at and threatening [redacted] for several minutes. PO Perez then flashed an NYPD shield, and [redacted] asked for his shield number. PO Perez replied, "Fuck you, that's my shield number," and immediately drove off without saying anything further (Allegations A and B). Read report for details.
