On January 17, 2018, at approximately 1:20 a.m., [redacted] was driving [redacted] with two passengers when Sgt. David Grieco stopped his vehicle in the vicinity of Powell Street and Belmont Avenue in Brooklyn (Allegation A – Abuse of Authority: [redacted]). After requesting [redacted]'s documents, Sgt. Grieco stated that he smelled marijuana. When [redacted] disputed this, Sgt. Grieco stated that [redacted] was double parked and asked him if he wanted a ticket (Allegation B – Abuse of Authority: [redacted]). The officers ordered [redacted] to exit the vehicle, after which officers questioned [redacted] and frisked and searched both men (Allegation C – Abuse of Authority: [redacted]; Allegations D, F, and G – Abuse of Authority: [redacted]; Allegation E – Abuse of Authority - [redacted]).
