Summary

On March 31, 2018, at approximately 9:00 am, PO Roberto Vasquez and PO Marky Sanchez of the 20th Precinct in Manhattan, along with several other officers, responded to [redacted] residence at [redacted] after a family member reported that [redacted] had threatened to harm them. Upon arriving at her door, the officers allegedly bypassed the lock through unknown means and entered the apartment (Allegations A, B, C: Abuse of Authority – Premises Entered - [redacted]). Several EMTs also followed them in. Finding [redacted] in the living room, PO Vasquez and PO Sanchez then advised [redacted] that she had to come with them downstairs for a medical evaluation, due to the nature of the reported threat, and stated that she would be taken forcibly if she did not go willingly. Coerced, [redacted] went downstairs with the officers. When she got into the ambulance waiting outside, [redacted] was then removed to [redacted], without explanation and against her will, where she was held in a psychiatric ward for five weeks (Allegations D, E: Abuse of Authority – Forcible Removal to Hospital - [redacted]).
