On June 19th, 2020, at around 11:00pm, [redacted] went to his father's vehicle, which was parked near [redacted] in Brooklyn. [redacted] entered the front passenger seat of the vehicle and after about a minute, was stopped by three officers, identified as Detective Steven Cruver, Detective Joseph Spina, and Lieutenant Michael Raso, all of Strategic Response Group's Anti-Crime Unit (Allegations A – C: Abuse of Authority, [redacted]). Det. Cruver ordered [redacted] to exit his vehicle, then frisked (Allegation D: Abuse of Authority, [redacted]) and allegedly searched [redacted] (Allegation E: Abuse of Authority, [redacted]). Det. Cruver took [redacted] Is phone from [redacted] Is hand and allegedly cracked the phone (Allegation F: Abuse of Authority, [redacted]). [redacted] then stood at the rear of his vehicle while Det. Cruver searched his vehicle (Allegation G: Abuse of Authority, [redacted]).
After Det. Cruver searched his vehicle, [redacted] was allowed to leave from the scene and was not issued any summonses. Det. Cruver, Lieutenant Raso, and Det. Spina all failed to provide RTKA cards to [redacted] (Allegations H – J: Abuse of Authority, [redacted]).
