Further details on conclusions.
On July 15, 2019, at approximately 10:30 p.m., [redacted] and his girlfriend, [redacted] observed PO Danamarie Alessio of the 18th Precinct yelling at [redacted] on 31st Street between 6th Avenue and Broadway in Manhattan. At one point during the incident, [redacted] stated, "I don't like this, this would never happen in Africa", to which PO Alessio responded, "Well, you're not in Africa, you're in New York City. And if you don't like it, go back to Africa." (Allegation A: Offensive Language; [redacted]). Eventually the officers, PO Alessio, PO Aaron Brown, PO Matthew Hunker, and PO Andrew Eden, all from the 18th Precinct, left the scene. [redacted] and [redacted] followed PO Alessio, and [redacted] requested her name and shield number, which she failed to provide (Allegations B and C: Abuse of Authority; [redacted]). [redacted] provided the investigation with cellphone footage he took of the incident [BR01 and BR02]. Read report for details.
