Summary

On August 17, 2019, at approximately 11:00p.m., residents of the Marcy Houses in Brooklyn, a NYCHA complex within the confines of the 79th Precinct, were celebrating Family Day, which is an annual event consisting of barbecues and music. [redacted] and at least 200 – possibly more – other civilians were present. As officers attempted to clear the complex once the event concluded, they met resistance from civilians who wished to remain and several 10-85s (requests for additional units) and 10-13s (officers need assistance) were put over the radio in and around the area of the Marcy Houses, resulting in a very large police presence, including the arrivals of Sergeant Jhonnatan Sanchez-Pena, Sergeant Robert Beierle, Sergeant Alex Ramos, Sergeant Michael Kreismer, Police Officer Ruben Felipe-Cardenas, Police Officer John Brennan, Police Officer Dijen Roy, Police Officer Christopher Francis, Police Officer Kevin Lynch, Police Officer Joseph Cassar, all of PSA 3, and Police Officer Nicholas Hom of the 79th Precinct.
