Summary

On June 3, 2020, at approximately 8 p.m., officers were attempting to disperse the crowd at a protest that was taking place at Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn. Unidentified officers called unidentified protestors "bitch" and used the word "fuck" (Allegation A - Offensive Language: [redacted] and Allegation B – Discourtesy: [redacted]). An officer called [redacted] a "bitch" and told her to "back the fuck up" and "shut the fuck up" (Allegation C - Offensive Language: [redacted] and Allegation D – Discourtesy: [redacted]). An officer struck an unidentified woman with his riot shield and pushed her to the ground with his hands (Allegations E and F – Force: [redacted]). An officer struck [redacted] with his riot shield, leg-swept her to the ground, and sat on her back (Allegations G, H, I – Force: [redacted]). As [redacted] yelled to other protesters to get the officer's shield number, PO Jan Rogowski of Patrol Borough Brooklyn North placed his arm around [redacted] neck in a chokehold and pulled him to the ground (Allegations J and K-Force: [redacted]). While on the ground, PO Rogowski kneeled on top of [redacted] which obstructed his breathing (Allegation L - Force: [redacted]). Police Officer Daniel Castaldo of the 122nd Precinct ordered [redacted] who was recording the incident, to, "Back the fuck up" (Allegation M – Discourtesy: [redacted]) and pushed him backwards using the long side of his baton (Allegation N - Force: [redacted]).
An officer escorted [redacted] to an MTA bus, which was being utilized to transport prisoners, where an officer pulled forward and looked down [redacted] shirt (Allegation O – Abuse of Authority: [redacted]).
