On October 15, 2021, at approximately 9:47 p.m., [redacted] was riding his motorcycle past the intersection of Huguenot Avenue and Amboy Road in Staten Island with a passenger sitting behind him. Police Officer John Gonzalez of the 123rd Precinct, who was stationed on the corner of the intersection, noticed [redacted] motorcycle did not have any license plates. Police Officer Gonzalez got into his vehicle and started following [redacted] down Huguenot Avenue as [redacted] ran several stop signs and red lights. As [redacted] approached Hylan Boulevard, Police Officer Gonzalez turned on the police lights in his vehicle, signaling to [redacted] to stop. [redacted] turned right onto Hylan Boulevard and continued driving without stopping.
Police Officer Gonzalez continued following him for about three-quarters of a mile to a mile southbound on Hylan Boulevard. After passing Seguine Boulevard, Police Officer Gonzalez decided to turn his lights off and cease attempting to stop [redacted]. As they both approached Sharrott Avenue, about a mile and a half from Huguenot Avenue, [redacted] conducted a U-turn and drove between Police Officer Gonzalez's vehicle and another vehicle stopped at the light. Police Officer Gonzalez put his car in reverse and hit [redacted] motorcycle with the rear of his vehicle (Allegations A and B: Force- Vehicle, Substantiated). [redacted] motorcycle pinned his left leg onto the ground, and the accident caused damage to [redacted] motorcycle (Allegation C: Abuse of Authority- Property Damaged, Substantiated).
