Complaint
Description: On November 23, 2016, plaintiff called 911 after attempting suicide. When NYPD arrived, P.O. Salvatore Aquino attempted to handcuff her. After plaintiff resisted, Sergeant Girolamo Barbara threw her onto the ground, placed his knee into her back, and forcibly handcuffed her in an excessively tight manner. Plaintiff was transported to a hospital and then to a precinct. The District Attorney's Office later dismissed the criminal charges against plaintiff.
