Complaint
Description: On February 28, 2018, the plaintiff was unlawfully detained, handcuffed, and arrested by the defendant PO including Detective Brenda Vargas without any reasonable suspicion of unlawful behaviour. The defendants falsely accused the plaintiff of crimes including shoplifting and illegally detained the plaintiff till March 4, 2018. The plaintiff was thrown down a flight of stairs causing him to lose consciousness. When he regained consciousness, the defendants tased him. The plaintiff had blood in his mouth and was taken to a hospital. The plaintiff was then taken to the Precinct where the plaintiff was fingerprinted, photographed, strip-searched and detained. The charges were dismissed on April 5, 2018.
