Description: On September 9, 2015, one of the Plaintiffs, a 14-year-old boy named Marin, was searched, assaulted, battered, and arrested by members of the NYPD, including PO Kang, for a robbery that took place in Queens County, NY earlier that afternoon. During the arrest, Marin suffered bruises from the handcuffs placed tightly on his wrists. Marin was released after a show-up identification was conducted at the site of the arrest with negative results. Upon hearing about the arrest, Marin’s mother (also a Plaintiff in the case), Garcia, went to the precinct and inquired about Marin’s arrest with PO Kang. Shortly after Garcia left the precinct and returned home, NYPD officers, including PO Kang, arrived at Garcia and Marin...
