Description: On September 9, 2015, one of the Plaintiffs, a 14-year-old boy named Marin, was searched, assaulted, battered, and arrested by members of the NYPD, including PO Kang, for a robbery that took place in Queens County, NY earlier that afternoon. During the arrest, Marin suffered bruises from the handcuffs placed tightly on his wrists. Marin was released after a show-up identification was conducted at the site of the arrest with negative results. Upon hearing about the arrest, Marin’s mother (also a Plaintiff in the case), Garcia, went to the precinct and inquired about Marin’s arrest with PO Kang.
