Complaint
Description: On June 21, 2020, the plaintiff was approached, assaulted, and battered by defendants, including Police Officer David Afanador (Shield No. 31730) and unidentified officers referred to as John and Jane Does. The assault and battery involved the plaintiff being lunged at, pinned to the ground, and placed in an illegal chokehold by Officer Afanador, causing the plaintiff to lose consciousness. Thereafter, the plaintiff was jumped on, struck with a baton, beaten, and forcefully placed in handcuffs. While in handcuffs, the plaintiff's head was struck against a car door by the police officers. Subsequently, the plaintiff was arrested without probable cause or reasonable doubt of committing a crime.
