Description: Mr. Pogosian was assembling peacefully on the corner of 42nd Street and 5th Avenue on August 13, 2017 when police officers suddenly grabbed him and threw him on the ground. The officers flex-cuffed Mr. Pogosian very tightly and the cuffs tightened even more as he was being placed into a police car. Mr. Pogosian screamed out in pain and asked for the flex cuffs to be loosened, but the officers ignored him. He suffered serious injuries to his wrists, forehead, knees, chest, and ribs as a result of the incident.
Mr. Pogosian was arrested and transported to the 7th precinct where he was detained for about 5 hours. He was eventually released with a desk appearance ticket.
