Khan, Michelle vs City of New York, et al.
Case # 506244/2018, Supreme Court - Kings, March 30, 2018, ended January 19, 2021
$200,000 Settlement
Complaint
Description: On July 8, 2017, Plaintiff was lawfully present at or around 2081 Fulton Street, Brooklyn. Various NYPD officers, including Rene Bersamin, approached Plaintiff and subjected her to repeated physical assault, causing injury. Defendant officers proceeded to falsely arrest Plaintiff using overly-tight handcuffs. Plaintiff was falsely accused of various crimes, subjected to excessive pre-arraignment detention, and denied medical care for her injuries. Defendant officers colluded to conduct an abuse of process and falsely charge Plaintiff with crimes to cover up the physical attack perpetrated upon her.
