Description: On January 1, 2024, at 50th St and Vernon Blvd., Queens, NY, Plaintiff was arrested. Salcedo had multiple assaults and batteries committed to her person. Salcedo was arrested and charged with crimes. Defendants provided false information likely to influence a prosecutor's decision to charge plaintiff with a crime so a prosecution would be initiated. Plaintiff was rear handcuffed by defendants and placed in a NYPD vehicle and transported to an NYPD precinct. Upon arrival, plaintiff was detained, searched, questioned, photographed and fingerprinted, and strip searched twice with a visual cavity inspection. All charges against Salcedo were unconditionally dismissed, representing a termination in her favor.

Description: On May 3, 2022, Plaintiff Todd Rivers was lawfully located in a veteran's homeless shelter located at 21-20 Borden Avenue, in Queens, NY (Plaintiff is a homeless veteran). Another resident of the shelter attacked Plaintiff in the shelter cafeteria with a pool ball. Plaintiff was able to restrain the assailant until help could arrive. When they arrived at the scene, Defendant NYPD Officers Daren Urena, Anthony Diaz, Brandon Taveras, Andrew Ali, and Kevin Gallagher detained, searched, and arrested Plaintiff. Before arresting Plaintiff, the Defendant Officers witnessed video surveillance showing that Plaintiff was the victim of an unprovoked attack.
