Description: On February 15, 2020, plaintiff Candiss Cruickshank was lawfully in her apartment when NYPD officer Bryan Freire and John Doe, alongside officers John Doe #1-10, knocked on the plaintiff's door and asked to speak with her. The defendant officers then, without a warrant, informed the plaintiff they were entering her apartment. Plaintiff was not entirely clothed and asked to at least put some clothes on before they entered. Defendant officers ignored this request, forcibly entered her apartment and used excessive force to handcuff the plaintiff while she was half naked laying on the ground, including smashing her face into the floor and yanking her arms into awkward positions causing physical injury.
