Description: Plaintiff's son was arrested by defendant officers for allegedly possessing and selling marijuana to UC 276. Officers went to Plaintiff's apartment and demanded she give them his cell phone. Since Plaintiff refused, defendant officers obtained and executed a search warrant at her apartment and locked her out. Officers refused to give the key back until she agreed to answer questions regarding her son's cell phone. The charges against her son were later dismissed.

Description: On April 26, 2014, as plaintiff was standing outside a bar, defendant officer in plainclothes approached him and asked him if he had any drugs to sell. Plaintiff replied in the negative. A few minutes later, defendants approached plaintiff, handcuffed him tightly and placed him under arrest. Defendants fabricated evidence to justify his arrest. As a result of this false arrest, plaintiff spent 15 months incarcerated before being released from custody. Plaintiff was ultimately acquitted of all charges at trial.

They detained them in handcuffs, searched and harassed them, then held Plaintiff in custody for over 12 hours without justification. Plaintiff was falsely charged with Unlawful Assembly.
