Complaint
Description: On May 15, 2013, as Plaintiff stood to exit a bus, PO Jose Mejia threw her down to her seat and while handcuffing her caused her to sustain injury to her head and shoulder. PO Meija inappropriately frisked Plaintiff and used excessive force twisting Plaintiff’s arm while pushing her into the seat. Plaintiff complained that her handcuffs were placed too tightly causing damage to both her wrists and hands. Plaintiff was detained for an excessive amount of time. The officer also violated her right to equal protection, among other rights.
