Description: On August 9, 2012 at a Brooklyn subway station, Plaintiffs and their three young children were awaiting a Manhattan-bound L train when defendant officers stopped them under the suspicion that one of them had avoided paying train fare due to pushing their child in a stroller through the door. Plaintiff reassured her children and defendant officer Dey pepper sprayed her in the face. Plaintiff fell to the floor, the children were also hit by the spray, and other plaintiff was also struck by the spray, which discolored his eye. Defendants Hodge and Dey pushed Plaintiff down the stairs, causing further injury. She was arrested and transferred to Central Booking; all charges have been adjourned in contemplation of di...
