Case # 19CV06581,
U.S. District Court - Southern District NY, September 25, 2019, ended March 29, 2021
$14,651 Settlement
Complaint
Description: Plaintiff was standing in the Fordham Road Subway Station when defendant plain-clothed officers approached him, pushed him against a wall, handcuffed him, brought him to a station in a marked police car, refused to inform him why he was arrested, joked about the altercation, looked through his wallet, and pushed him while handcuffed onto the floor of a cell at the precinct. Plaintiff was in severe pain, had multiple bruises, and was bleeding from being pushed multiple times and requested medical attention. An ambulance arrived an hour after he had requested it. Officer Henderson later falsely claimed the plaintiff sold subway swipes and kicked an officer in the shin, both of which did not occur.
