Description: On or about July 5, 2014, at approximately 11:45pm, Plaintiff was lawfully present on the sidewalk of 961 Belmont Avenue in Brooklyn. Plaintiff was accosted by several NYPD officers, including Officer Shumann Battist and Officer Samantha Heim. Without any lawful justification, the officers forcibly seized, detained, and arrested Plaintiff. The officers viciously assaulted Plaintiff even though he did not struggle or resist arrest. Plaintiff was falsely imprisoned in police custody for an extended period of time.
