Complaint
Description: On April 9, 2014, Defendant Officers Edmonds, Armstead, and several unnamed Officers chased Plaintiff after allegedly observing Plaintiff in possession of a firearm. When Defendants made contact with Plaintiff they slammed him to the ground smashing his face into the floor, twisting his leg, and stomping on his left ankle. Prior to the beating one of the Defendants told Plaintiff, "I'm going to break your fucking legs for running." As a result of the encounter Plaintiff suffered a torn patellar tendon (which required surgery), bruising, abrasions and swelling. While in detention at a facility in the Bronx, Plaintiff, for over 12 hours, was denied medical care, a bathroom, food and water.

Description: On November 12, 2011, the plaintiff was visiting his mother but was stopped by the police and issued a summons by the police. No crime was found and the plaintiff was released from custody. Similar stop-search-summon-release incidents happened repeatedly at least six times within a year on November 12, 2011, January 17, 2012, February 4, 2012, March 9, 2012, and March 30, 2012, and September 3, 2012, Specifically, on January 17, 2012, police officers rode the elevator and not let plaintiff leave. On February 4, 2012, the police pulled a gun and shoved it in the plaintiff’s face.
