Robles, Rebecca vs City of New York, et al.
Case # 15CV02584, U.S. District Court - Southern District NY, April 6, 2015, ended February 2, 2016
$9,500 Settlement
Complaint, Second Amended Complaint
Description: Defendant Officers and EMTs entered Plaintiff's apartment based on an inaccurate report that Plaintiff posed a danger to herself, and despite seeing that Plaintiff clearly was not a danger to herself, they treated her as a prisoner in her own home and forcibly, violently took her to a hospital. At one point Plaintiff was pushed to the ground by an officer. Defendant officers applied weight and pressure to Plaintiff, causing her hands and wrists to become swollen and bruised. She was then handcuffed behind her back and taken to a psychiatric facility.
