Description: On August 18, 2019, the plaintiff, Uniqua Silver, was lawfully present at the Roosevelt Housing Complex in Kings County, New York, when she was allegedly assaulted by Police Officer Anthony Abadia and other unidentified officers. The assault involved Silver being beaten, kicked, punched, and slammed against a car, as well as being choked, tackled, and forcefully handcuffed. Following the incident, Silver was taken into police custody, denied proper medical treatment, and held at a police station and later at Kings County Central Booking before being released.
