Description: On or about April 28, 2017, Michael Ortiz was stopped and searched by officers Kur and another officer near 184th Street and Davidson Avenue in the Bronx, New York. Officer Kur stated that he had been trying to locate Ortiz for some time. The search revealed Ortiz was carrying marijuana, leading to his arrest for criminal possession of marijuana. Upon arriving at the 52nd precinct, Ortiz was shocked to learn that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest related to a more serious incident on August 27, 2016, where he was accused of attempted murder, gang assault, and weapon possession.
