Description: On December 9, 2011, Plaintiff was lawfully reading his emails in a computer store when Defendants, who are NYPD Detectives assigned to Narcotics Borough Manhattan North, falsely arrested Plaintiff for an alleged sale of a controlled substance. Plaintiff did not sell illegal drugs at all. Plaintiff was taken to the 33rd Precinct, where Defendants interrogated him about neighborhood drug dealers. Defendants agreed to illegally strip-search Plaintiff and misrepresent that they recovered drugs from him during the search, although they did not recover anything illegal from him. Description: On February 9, 2012, 14 NYPD Officers broke down the door to Plaintiffs' residence pursuant to a fraudulently and maliciously obtained search warrant. NYPD Officer Jackson placed all the Plaintiffs under arrest. Plaintiff Romulo Taveras was thrown to the floor and rear handcuffed. Plaintiff Rami Taveras was pulled from his bed, thrown to the floor, held down at gunpoint, and handcuffed. The residence was searched for several hours before the defendants realized that they had made a mistake, released the Plaintiffs, and voided their arrests.
