Description: On August 1, 2016, plaintiffs Kimberly Brower, Kaylin John, Tyra Robinson, and Ravenne Hinds were at or near 1533 York Avenue in Manhattan when they were assaulted and arrested by NYPD officer defendants including Officers Edgar Garcia, Benjamin Paley, Johnathan Simons, Paul Law, Alex Servia, and unidentified NYPD John Does. Plaintiff Kaylin John was assaulted and subjected to excessively tight handcuffs. Plaintiffs were released from police custody without being brought before a judge, and no criminal charges were brought against them.

Description: On February 28, 2013, Plaintiffs were loading items into their work van. NYPD Traffic Agent Charleen Mahlung approached and issued one of them a ticket for illegal parking. One of the plaintiffs got into an argument with him over the propriety of the ticket. At that time, NYPD Police Officer Paul Law and others got to the scene. The traffic agent told them that he had been assaulted, causing the Plaintiffs to be arrested. This was despite the officers interviewing a witness who attested that that was false. For no reason, Plaintiffs were searched, taken to a precinct, and falsely charged.

Description: On February 7, 2012, plaintiff had just finished shopping on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and got into a taxi, when a gentleman he knew from his neighborhood told plaintiff that he had no money and asked if he could share the taxi. Plaintiff agreed but after the taxi drove one block, it was stopped by several NYPD officers.
Plaintiff was then falsely arrested by NYPD Officer Paul Law and other unidentified officers and brought to the 19th Precinct and later to Central Booking, where he was charged with multiple felonies, including Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, Identity Theft, and Attempted Grand Larceny, based on Officer Law's fabricated allegations that plaintiff had assisted the gentlema...
