Case # 17CV09753, U.S. District Court - Southern District NY, January 19, 2018, ended May 31, 2018
$19,002 Settlement
Complaint
Description: On January 30, 2016, plaintiffs entered a bus. While on the bus, defendants ordered plaintiffs off the bus. Defendants immediately pushed plaintiffs against a wall and intrusively searched them. Defendants found no contraband on defendants. Despite that, defendants tightly handcuffed, arrested and transported plaintiff to the 33rd precinct. Plaintiff was again intrusively strip-searched at the precinct. Defendants subsequently fabricated evidence to justify plaintiff's arrest. Plaintiff was released after 6 days on Rikers island. All charges brought against her were ultimately dismissed.
