Description: On September 11, 2019, Plaintiff, a Black or African American male, was playing cards with friends on the sidewalk when POs including Richard Ruiz approached Plaintiff. POs unlawfully questioned and searched Plaintiff regarding illegal activity, despite possessing no valid reason. POs slapped Plaintiff in the back of his head multiple times, subjected him to ongoing verbal abuse and slammed his head against the vehicle. POs fabricated the observations including that Plaintiff was in possession of marijuana, handcuffed him in an excessively tight fashion. Plaintiff was maliciously prosecuted. All charges against Plaintiff were dismissed.

Description: On February 5, 2020, at approximately, 3:00 p.m., in the vicinity of 848 Hunts Point Avenue, County of Bronx, NYPD Officer Geraldine Ozuna, along with other NYPD officers, approached plaintiff without legal justification and detained him by means of excessive force. The officers subjected plaintiff to a strip search before he was arraigned and falsely and maliciously prosecuted with committing a crime. As a result of the officers’ excessive force, plaintiff suffered severe physical and mental injury. Plaintiff also alleges that his arrest was a result of NYPD’s “Stop and Frisk” policy, which encourages racial profiling. All charges against the plaintiff were terminated favorably.
