Description: On June 19, 2022, Plaintiffs parked on the street while Plaintiff Classen went inside a store to shop for groceries and Plaintiff Merchant remained in the vehicle with Ms. Classen's son in the backseat. NYPD Officers, including Edward Najarro and Jovanni Santana, approached Mr. Merchant in his vehicle and signaled him to park in a different spot, and he complied. The Officers then demanded identification without any reason for doing so. When Mr. Merchant asked why they approached him and to speak to a supervisor, the Officers ignored him.
