Description: On August 26, 2016, Plaintiff was falsely arrested by Police Officer Jessy Vargas and another uniformed officer at 892 Rockaway Avenue in Brooklyn for allegedly committing trespass, harassment, unlawful eviction, and other charges. Plaintiff was arraigned, held on bail, and charged with several felonies. He was detained at Rikers Island for approximately 19 months based on the officers' false claims, including that Plaintiff had an outstanding warrant. The Defendant officers also damaged Plaintiff's property while searching his premises without a warrant. After his time at Rikers Island, Plaintiff was issued an order of protection that kept him out of his house for over a year, forcing him to live on the street...
