Description: On May 1, 2020, Plaintiff was lawfully present with a female friend in a deli grocery store, when police officers Kerry McCarty, Stephen Cambria and 10 other unnamed officers approached. The officers unlawfully questioned Plaintiff regarding illegal activity, and then violently grabbed and contorted Plaintiff's arms behind his back, handcuffing him in an excessively tight fashion and illegally searching him. The officers then fabricated evidence that Plaintiff has committed a Petit Larceny and Procession of Stolen Property. Plaintiff was targeted by the officers for his status as a Hispanic or Latino male. All charges against Plaintiff were dismissed.
