Description: On June 11, 2015, the plaintiff was arrested, placed in a cell, and imprisoned at the NYCPD Midtown North Precinct for more than 30 hours following a false claim (made by an accountant; the complaint separately alleges that the accountant is liable for malicious prosecution) that the plaintiff created, possessed, and fraudulently obtained a forged, false, or fraudulent instrument. The false arrest was made recklessly, carelessly, and negligently by Detective Walter Lynch and unnamed NYPD employees, John Does #1-5. Complaint
Description: On or about November 10, 2012, an off-duty Court officer performing security for the area approached Plaintiff's car and questioned her and then punched her in the face, breaking her jaw. Plaintiff lost consciousness and spent several days in the hospital as a result. She required surgery to fix her jaw. Defendant Detective Walter Lynch, responding to the scene but not conducting a proper investigation and illegally searching Plaintiff's car, acted to protect the attacking officer from arrest by having the Plaintiff's car moved without being properly inventoried, and turning a blind eye to the assault.
