Defendant officers Amado Batista, Detective Daniel Rivera and John Doe approached plaintiff Lewis, who was not engaged in any suspicious or illegal conduct, and, without legal justification, searched plaintiff. The search yielded no evidence of guns, drugs or contraband. Despite the absence of any evidence of wrongdoing, defendants applied excessively tight handcuffs to plaintiff and arrested him.
