When Plaintiff pulled up in front of his home, defendants, NYPD officers approached his car with their guns drawn. Plaintiff scared honked his car to alert his family. Description: On October 12, 2023, Plaintiff was at his newly purposed property to install a new lock when he encountered a non-party individual already squatting or residing at the property. Plaintiff attempted to provide a key to the new lock to the individual, when the individual threatened to shoot him. Plaintiff retreated from the building and called 911. The individual who threatened Plaintiff also called 911 and falsely reported that Plaintiff had brandished a firearm at the individual. Several plain clothed NYPD officers arrived at the scene who verified that the Plaintiff was not armed. Officer Darrien Phillips approached plaintiff and interrogated him without probable cause, arrested him, and confiscated his belongings. Upon taking him to the precinct, plaintiff was held against his will and was cuffed to a wall. He was booked and later forced to appear in Court, where his charges were adjourned in contemplation of dismissal.
