Description: On the evening of July 30, 2019, Courtney Schloss found himself in the passenger seat of a parked vehicle at 166 Scholes Street in Brooklyn. While there, he was approached by several NYPD officers, including Francisco Martireyes, Rodney Fernandez, and Henry Daverin. Without any lawful justification, the officers initiated an unlawful stop and search, leading to Schloss's arrest. During the encounter, they used excessively tight handcuffs, which caused him considerable discomfort and emotional distress. Subsequently, he was taken to the precinct and wrongfully detained for nearly a month before all charges against him were dismissed on November 6, 2019.

Description: On or about August 3, 2018, plaintiff GRAY was lawfully present in the vicinity of 60 Moore St. plaintiff was accosted by several members of the NYPD, including defendants MATIREYES, GREGG, and/or POLICE OFFICERS “JOHN DOE” #1-10. Plaintiff had not committed any crimes or offenses. Defendants directed plaintiff to provide them with identification. In response, plaintiff requested to know why he was being detained, but did not refuse to provide identification. Several minutes later, Defendants grabbed plaintiff by his shoulder and arm, pushed him up against a car, and then placed him under arrest by handcuffing his arms tightly behind his back.
