Montague and his friends were on a street near the Hudson Yards Pier when they were approached, grabbed, and assaulted by the police officers John Doe 1-5. After Montague and his friends were physically assaulted by the officers, they were taken to the 14th and 6th precinct without Montague's consent. Despite Montague and his friends being assaulted without justification, some of the officers did not intervene.
