Description: On October 4, 2019, NYPD officers Angel Perez, Douglas Soriano, and unnamed officers grabbed, handcuffed and searched Plaintiff. The officers found no contraband on Plaintiff then transported him to 41st Precinct, where Plaintiff was fingerprinted, photographed, and unlawfully detained. The officers falsely stated to the Bronx County DA Office that Plaintiff had committed the crime of Promoting Gambling despite knowing that they lacked a legal and factual basis to allege that Plaintiff committed any crime. On October 25, 2019, after 24 hours in police custody, Plaintiff was arraigned in Bronx County Criminal Court and was charged with crimes, which were all subsequently dismissed.
