Complaint
Description: In December 2011, while the plaintiff was lawfully participating in a demonstration and standing behind netting erected by NYPD officers to block the street, NYPD officers began pushing on the netting and the people behind it, causing the Plaintiff to be knocked over. As the Plaintiff attempted to regain his footing, defendant Officer Richard Jones tackled him to the ground without any justifiable reason. Defendant Officer Jones then unlawfully arrested the Plaintiff for felony assault. Although defendant Detective Trevor Bosco was present and recorded the incident with his video camera, he took no action to intervene or protect the Plaintiff, and he refused to submit the video as evidence during the trial.
