Description: On April 27, 2017, several members of Mayor de Blasio's staff prevented plaintiff from attending a town hall meeting. One member of the mayor's staff, Mr. Redmond, told plaintiff he was not being admitted to the meeting because he believed that plaintiff had previously harassed NYCHRA Commissioner Steven Banks. Plaintiff says this was in retaliation of his exercise of his First Amendment rights. NYPD Officer Rafael Beato shoved plaintiff while he stood near the school. NYPD Officers Yu Lie, Lieutenant Nieves, and Detective Gerola observed Officer Beato shove the plaintiff and did not intervene.
